Western Dragon

The Western dragon has a large muscular body with strong hind legs being much larger than the front legs or forearms allowing it to move swiftly and walk upright at will. The tail is long, thick and muscular giving the dragon the balance and agility that is needed to lift and hold it's great weight and bulk when using only it's hind legs. The Western dragon is well equipped for flying with very large wings and powerful hind legs and tail which are used to help him take flight. The strength that the tail possesses not only enables body stability but also provides a powerful defense weapon when needed. The dragon reminds one of an ancient reptile of sorts with his armor plated skin of scale plates, with the neck, chest and underlying areas securely protected by larger, shield like plates protecting vital organs and more vulnerable areas. If ever there was a body of armor a knight would envy, it would be the brilliantly designed living armor a dragon possesses. The Western dragon is well known for the viscous claws on his feet that can be used as lethal weapons. Different species of this dragon can have varying horns and other pointed, bone like appendages on it's head, neck, shoulders and even on the wings. What they all have is common is keen vision that is heightened by very acute hearing. What their eyes can't yet see, their ears have told them what to look for. This dragon's sense of smell has well rewarded him by sensing danger and when combined with his other well known senses, he is very attuned to his environment and all that is within. Documentation regarding the Western dragon gives us a closer understanding of his temperament and character in regards to other dragons located in other continents. This dragon has been known for admirable qualities like his intelligence and cunning, but also for his darker side, a side that brought fear and despair for those who were unfortunate to make his acquaintance.
