What is a unicorn and whence did they come? I met me first horsey when I was no larger than your thumb. Twas between the road to Dublin and the running waters of Aldelefren. Me mam sent me packing with me burdened like a mule, to sell our hand made amulets to the woman by the well. The road she twined like an adder's upwards spiral, and we all know the sun shows no mercy on an unruly child.

Half way into my sojourn I took shelter neath a mighty oak. I broke into gurgles of laughter and gave a mighty whoop. For you see I heard the running waters of a magic singing brook. I high-tailed it as fast as me wee legs could go. Struggling blindly through the overgrowth with me mam's livelyhood in tow.

There was me blessing all nestled up in a tree root's mossy bough, so tiny, so fragile, I still remember it now. Twas whiter than fresh snow she was, so soft like a chick's silky down, and there smack dab in the middle of her head was the unicorn's golden crown.

So ask me about the unicorn and from whence did they come and I'll tell ye a magical story when I was no larger than yer thumb.
